Sellers Dorsey is pleased to welcome former Deputy Secretary of Healthcare Finance & Data and former Medicaid Director at the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration, Tom Wallace, as Director of Consulting for the Firm’s Florida state-based practice. Tom brings more than 25 years of healthcare administration and financial expertise, having overseen Florida’s estimated $35 billion Medicaid program that will serve a projected 4.7 million Floridians in state fiscal year 2024 – 2025.
With a profound understanding of Medicaid’s complexities, Tom led the Florida Medicaid program through a series of transformational changes, spearheading numerous initiatives that aim to enhance access and quality for Medicaid beneficiaries including Florida’s low-income pool, directed payment programs, and graduate medical education programs. Tom also served as the executive sponsor for Florida’s multi-year, multi-vendor initiative to modernize the Florida Medicaid Enterprise System.
Tom began his career with the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration and experienced tremendous growth, starting as a regulatory analyst and quickly demonstrating his knowledge of Medicaid programs. He is a trusted thought leader in the national Medicaid community, sharing insights and experiences with networks across the industry.
As Director of Consulting, Tom will oversee the ongoing growth of our team and services throughout the Firm. Tom will bring his passion for Medicaid and innovative solutions to support our work in Florida and across the country. He will utilize his experience in Medicaid, with a focus on finance and data, to provide leadership and strategic guidance to our clients and enhance their impact.
