Sellers Dorsey is pleased to announce Matthew (Matt) Hicks will be bringing his expertise as an accomplished health care executive to the firm as Director of Medicaid Strategy. Mr. Hicks most recently worked as Senior Vice President and Chief Policy Officer at Grady Health System in Georgia for over 10 years. His more than two decades of experience in public policy make him a sought-after policy expert and valuable addition to the Sellers Dorsey team.
“We are delighted Matt will be joining our market-leading team of experts from across the country,” said Martin Sellers, CEO of Sellers Dorsey. “He joins a team of former Medicaid Directors, health plan executives, and C-suite executives from safety-net hospitals dedicated to securing results for our clients and the vulnerable populations they serve. His commitment to improving health care for the Medicaid population perfectly aligns with our mission and makes him an excellent addition to the firm.”
Mr. Hicks has been instrumental in engaging Grady in policy discussions at the local, state, and federal levels. His work has resulted in significant funding for the safety net and improvements that benefit Grady’s operations and the community they serve. His demonstrated success in Georgia will enhance the capabilities of Sellers Dorsey as they continue their work to improve access and outcomes for those that rely on the Medicaid program.
“Having worked closely with the Sellers Dorsey team, I have seen first-hand the positive impact their can-do attitude and collaboration with clients has on improving access, enhancing quality, and reducing disparities in health care,” said Mr. Hicks. “I look forward to joining the team to strengthen Medicaid programs across the country.”
Mr. Hicks began his career working on social services and health care matters as professional staff in the United States Senate. He earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Emory University and Master of Business Administration from Yale University.
