Rachel is a results-driven public health professional with experience in strategic planning and a passion for driving transformative change in healthcare. Prior to joining Sellers Dorsey, Rachel was a Graduate Research Assistant for the Office of Research, Innovation and Global Solutions at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There, she designed, promoted, and managed events and programs related to innovation and entrepreneurship, fostering connections between startup leaders, students, faculty, and community members and supporting the development of innovative solutions in public health. Additionally, she served as a Research Assistant at UNC-Chapel Hill, where she conducted surveys, analyzed data, and developed resources for a behavior change intervention for at-risk populations in North Carolina. Prior to UNC-Chapel Hill, Rachel was a Health Promotions Coordinator at the American Lung Association, where she managed state and national lung health programs for a wide audience addressing school asthma, tobacco cessation, COPD support, and lung cancer education.
As Associate for Emerging Markets – Medicaid Finance, Rachel supports the Associate Directors, Senior Consultants, and Consultants of the Firm in delivering healthcare consulting services in areas such as Medicaid financing and policy, provider reimbursement, regulatory compliance, managed care, and general business development. Additionally, Rachel provides project management and research support to Medicaid finance initiatives in Florida and for the Firm’s ambulance portfolio, including coordinating and tracking action items across the team, preparing for internal and external meetings, and researching policies including state/federal laws and regulations related to healthcare.
